Mochizuki
hiiragi_ing is the solo project of Shizuoka-based sound artist Kazuki Mochizuki, working across ambient, experimental music, IDM, deep listening and sound design.
Since 2006, his work has appeared through labels in Japan and abroad, including France’s indigo*magenta, Spain’s Sinergy-Networks and the US label Nataural Anthemes. His practice includes audiovisual works with sound and visual artist Tomoyuki Aoki, compilation and remix contributions, a collaborative EP with Ryo Miyashita, and an appearance on Open Silence by hosomi, the solo alias of Sakana Hosomi (Maju / neina).
Today he co-hosts Shukuba, a monthly music series staged in a historic building as part of the Shizuoka Floating Reverberation School. He also performs in YamaNoboraZu, an improvisational unit with Masanori Takayama / Yamasakusen, exploring new intersections between voice, loops and electronic sound.
